I first got interested in matters of the occult when I was eight years old. I grew up in the south of England with its rolling hills and ancient buildings; on a good day, it can be a very mystical part of the world. As with many children, my interest in all things esoteric was steadily drummed out of me by the system, religion and modernity. The passion returned during my teen years where old texts were being re-published and a growing movement of counter-culture was challenging the new age thinking prevalent at the time. It was at this point I obtained my first tarot deck. Throughout my twenties, I would swing back and forth between dull rationality - where I got a physics degree - and interesting otherworldliness. Now, after a decade of studying witchcraft, occultism, hermeticism, kabbalah, astrology and psychic ability I use what I have learnt to help others through tarot, the pattern of planets in the sky and the deeper recesses of the mind.
What do you like most about giving readings to clients?
The conversation and dialogue. I feel my role is simply as a conduit. A means of passing on information. A two-way conversation is vital to get a deeper interpretation of the messages and symbols received.
How would you say you are typical of your star sign?
Your star sign - or sun sign - is really only the tip of the iceberg of your temperament. My Sun is cardinal fire; I am good at initiating and leading and can be quite spontaneous. I feel that my rising sign and my Jupiter/Uranus aspect embodies my personality more accurately.
When do you remember being first aware of your gift?
I remember that as a child I could feel what others were feeling - and at times thinking - and I would astral travel regularly. I have had to re-learn and develop these traits as an adult.
What is your most memorable experience with a client?
I have had many pivotal and meaningful experiences in recent years, the most memorable I wouldn't want to repeat out of respect for those that I have worked with. Without going into too much detail, I did recently help someone find a lost family heirloom - a piece of jewellery that had been missing for several years.
What other experiences or qualifications do you have that you feel compliment your work as a reader?
In my more mundane life, I have always held people facing roles, as a result, I have had decades of experience conversing and working with a diverse and wide range of folk. More recently, I conduct readings at fairs, at parties and have a robust clientele of one-on-one seekers.
What is the most important thing for a person to consider when they decide to have a psychic reading?
Feeling comfortable. It is important that you feel at ease as this allows you to be more open. It is also vital that you keep an open mind and let go of your expectations. I would also suggest that having a clear and concise question - especially when using tarot - provides a clear and precise answer.
