I've been interested in astrology and all things esoteric for as long as I can remember. I had a near death experience when I was a child and I think it enhanced my intuitive abilities, because I've always had an uncanny knack for reading people and can see how situations will unfold - a skill I found useful in my job as a news researcher. I started practising astrology and tarot card readings on friends and family in my teen years and my skills have just grown since then. However, for a long time, I just considered this a hobby until 2006 when I was forced to leave my night shift job due to health reasons. At that point, I decided it was time to follow my passion and try and make it something I did full-time, so I went back to study between 2006-2009. I also began writing astrology columns for a number of websites and alternative healing newsletters. During this time, I met several well-known astrologers and tarot readers, some of whom mentored me, helping me to fine-tune my reading abilities, which finally which gave me the confidence to start reading professionally for other people in about 2010. I also set up an astrology website, specialising in eclipses which has continued to grow and thrive. My book on astrology is due to be published later this year.
What do you like most about giving readings to clients?
I enjoy connecting with different people and helping them to overcome their problems and blockages in order to realize their full potential. As a Libran, I'm particularly interested in relationship dynamics - I'm a great believer in soul mate connections - and have learnt to use a mixture of astrology and tarot to guide people through any bumps in the road or unhealthy patterns that may stand between them and lasting happiness.
How would you say you are typical of your star sign?
Fairness, justice and reciprocity are important to me. I'm also very relationship-centered, and like many, Librans, am very drawn to beauty and harmony - especially pretty designs, flowers, and gorgeous artworks. My friends and famiy would say that I can be a little bit indecisive when it comes to making important decisions, but that's just because I like to weigh up al the pros and cons.
When do you remember being first aware of your gift?
Probably when I was about 12 or 13 - I kept inadvertently (and sometimes rather inconveniently) uncovering things that were hidden. People in my family always ask me where things are as I seem to be able to locate lost items quite easily.
What is your most memorable experience with a client?
Probably doing a reading for quite a well-known psychic in the Kent area, thinking I couldn't possibly be as good as him or tell him anything he didn't already know - only to discover that lots of what I predicted for him came true, which I was very relieved and chuffed to hear about!
What other experiences or qualifications do you have that you feel compliment your work as a reader?
My MA in cosmology and divination - a fairly rare degree that has given me tremendous insight into how astrology, tarot and other esoteric systems work - I have just written a book on it, which is due to published in the autumn of 2020. I've also studied with the Faculty of Astrological Studies, as well as been mentored by several well-respected astrologers and tarot readers, including the late Vernon Wells, who taught me horary astrology, and Carrie Paris, a well-known tarot reader based in California.
What is the most important thing for a person to consider when they decide to have a psychic reading?
I don't believe Fate is fixed, but can change based on the decisions we choose to take - rather like that movie, Sliding Doors. So no prediction should ever be taken as 100% pronouncement of what WILL happen, but only what COULD potentially happen. Readers are also simply channels for intuitive guidance, and aren't omnipotent. They also have good days and bad days, as do clients - something that astrology has helped me to realize. Timing is also really important for staying in flow and getting the best possible outcome from any action/decision. In this sense, we co-create our reality with the powers of the cosmos. Also, clients need to realize that they have AGENCY and are not just passive bystanders or victims of fate - they have more power to attract what they want and change painful patterns than they realize. Often, though, this involves making changes on some level, which can be scary. However, there is a saying: "if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always get what you always got".
