I have been reading tarot cards for clients for about ten years, but the cards have been a part of my life from a young age. My mother was a tarot reader, and I can remember being fascinated with the pictures on her cards. I can also remember my mother telling me to run off and go play when she had someone to read for. When I was about eight years old, I received my first tarot deck, and my mother started to teach me what the cards meant. In my teens, I would do readings for family and friends as well as for myself. Eventually, life got more hectic, and I found myself using the tarot less and less, until I stopped completely. I would think to myself that when I had time, or was in a better frame of mind, I would get them out again, but for years, I didn’t. Then, one year for Christmas, my husband bought me a new deck of tarot cards and encouraged me to start reading again. I haven’t looked back since!
What do you like most about giving readings to clients?
I love connecting with people and helping them to gain clarity when they are struggling to make sense out of non-sensical problems and worries, or are in need of insight. When clients say ‘I never thought of it that way.’ or ‘that makes sense.’ or ‘Thank you for talking with me.’ I feel privileged that they chose to talk to and confide in me, and that I was able to help in some way.
How would you say you are typical of your star sign?
I am the perfect fit for my star sign. I am nurturing, caring, loyal, and very protective of my friends and family. I love being at home, and prefer to get comfy and watch a good movie or read a book rather than to go out for a night on the town. I am very intuitive, and make most decisions based on intuition rather than logic. SO much so that some people think I am silly, until I land on my feet. I am introverted and may be a little hard to get to know, but once I am drawn out of my shell, look out! If you guessed that my star sign is cancer, then you are right.
When do you remember being first aware of your gift?
As a young child, I always felt an affinity with tarot, but it wasn’t until my late teens that I was told by my friends and family that most times when I read for them, the cards, and my interpretations were spot on. Earlier in my profile I mentioned how at one point in my life, I stopped reading tarot cards for a long time. I was going through a very difficult time in my life, and whenever I asked the universe to tell me what I needed to know through my tarot cards, I did not like the answers. In reality, the cards were telling me what I needed to know, but I was not ready to accept what they were indicating.
What is your most memorable experience with a client?
One of my first clients was a woman seeking advice about her relationship. She was very troubled, and through our conversations, she came to the realisation that she lacked confidence and her self-esteem had really taken a hit over the years as a result of her on again/off again relationship. I read the tarot cards for her, and whenever asked, I offered support and gentle advice. I gave her a few more readings, and then I didn’t hear from her again for quite some time. One day, out of the blue, she contacted me to thank me for listening and being patient with her whenever she needed a reading, an ear to listen, or a shoulder to lean on. She told me how she had moved on without her partners and how much more confident, empowered and happy she was. She said, ‘In the end I KNEW I deserved better, so I went and got it.’
What other experiences or qualifications do you have that you feel compliment your work as a reader?
I am a very good listener. I am objective, and non-judgemental. I am here for you whether you are calling for a reading, and only a reading, or calling for a reading, and someone to talk with. I’m the one my friends call when they need advice, support, a different perspective on a situation, or an impromptu tarot reading. I am here for you as well, and will give you the same respect and courtesy I give my friends. If you are reading this as a prospective client, a new client, or a regular one, know that you can talk to me about anything, and feel safe while doing so.
What is the most important thing for a person to consider when they decide to have a psychic reading?
One of the most important things for people to consider when having a reading is that some details may not seem accurate at the time of the reading. I have had clients tell me that I was wrong about a reading, only to get back in touch to say that what the cards conveyed to them was correct. A reading may not show you what you want to see, but it will show you what you need to understand. Equally important, is that the more information you are able to give to your reader, the more in depth and insightful your reading will be.
